CREATIVE VISION

As an artist, I seek to create portals that open us to the infinite possibilities of being and expressing ourselves. These portals serve as invitations to a journey of self-discovery, where we can reawaken to our true essence, explore our origins, and listen to the whispers of our souls' desires.

Manas tvam vyoma tvam marud asi marut sārathir asi

tvam āpas tvam bhūmis tvayi pariṇatāyām na hi param |

tvam eva svātmānam pariṇamayītum viśva-vapuṣā

Thou art Air, Thou art Ākāśa, Thou art Fire, Thou art Water and Earth too;

When thou hast transformed Thyself in this way into the form of the Universe,

there is nothing beyond not included in Thee. It is to transform Thyself into the Universe that thou assume this form of Consciousness-Bliss as Śiva’s Awareness.

Each time I stand in front of a blank canvas, a vision flows from within, enticing me into Devi’s multi-dimensional realms of consciousness. This begins the mystical journey of bringing Her energetically alive in the physical realm. The paintbrush becomes the sacred wand, and I play with Her as the creative consciousness, as she awakens and heals with each stroke, each form, each color, and each symbol, transforming the canvas into an insightful Energetic Signature. An intuitive sacred meditative process births these creations. The images, colors and messages that emerge create a visual story that is a deeply empowering piece of Sacred Art. 

Each portal, a vibrant tapestry woven from Śakti's myriad forms, ignites a visual dialogue. It speaks simultaneously to the inner world (microcosm) and the vast universe (macrocosm), the finite and the infinite, form and formlessness. The interplay of colors and brushstrokes unveils pathways of healing and transformation, a visual alchemy. As I delve deeper into this vision through painting, I discover a profound truth: the art that resonates most deeply within me resonates most widely with the world. This Sacred Art Portal serves as a visual mirror. It invites us to recognize our own radiant presence and sacred divinity. Through this recognition, may we remember the inherent grace that resides within each of us.

As an artist, I yearn to create paintings that act as visionary gateways. These portals invite us to experience the profound interconnection between the divine and human, the real and imagined. They transcend the boundaries of time and space, sparking a soul-response to unseen realities. Through my art, I seek to blur the lines between the perceivable and the mysterious, transforming the formless into tangible expressions of the Divine.

śivaḥ śaktyā yuktō yadi bhavati śaktaḥ prabhavituṃ

na chēdēvaṃ dēvō na khalu kuśalaḥ spanditumapi - Saundaryalahirī

Śiva, the witnessing awareness, the very ground of being awakens to Śakti as the creative power of the universe, and this ‘Play of Consciousness’ gives form to the timeless-formless-boundless energies present within the Creation. If not, this awareness does not even know how to pulsate.

ALCHEMY WITH THE BRUSH

Propelled by a yearning for the Source, I begin by looking deeply within myself and seek to express what I may find waiting there. I journey inwards, not just to unearth personal truths, but to awaken to the pulsating whispers of creation. This yearning compels me to connect with the primordial dance of Śiva-Śakti, the very source from which creation unfolds. With each brushstroke, I translate the subtle wisdom gleaned in this Presence into a visual language. The canvas transforms into a Portal, where light and color weave a tapestry. These hues resonate with the primordial creative frequencies emanating from the womb of creation, unlocking glimpses of unseen realms brimming with potential.Depicting Devī is a soul-shaping ritual, a constant communion with the ever-alive Consciousness of Creation. As I hold the brush, I become a conduit. Her creative fire ignites within me, infusing every molecule of pigment and form on the canvas. This collaboration births a timeless tableau, a threshold between the familiar and the yet-to-be, poised at the precipice of a new reality.

This creative process transcends mere visual stimulation. It ignites an alchemical fire within me, weaving its magic across my waking, dreaming, and transcendental states. It awakens a luminous awareness, revealing both the primal depths and transcendent possibilities of individual consciousness. Through this exploration, the limitations of perception dissolve, replaced by an expansive understanding of universal truths.The deeply personal becomes a universal offering. My experiences transform into potent themes, instruments that illuminate the sacred forms and majestic designs woven throughout the Cosmos. They act as portals, opening pathways towards healing and transformation – alchemical journeys born from the mystical union of creativity and universal consciousness.

Steeped in the vibrant colors and visual symphony of India since birth, their influence is woven into my very being. Now, living in the picturesque Pacific Northwest, I'm constantly inspired by profound interactions with its magical landscapes, visions of both beauty and power that fuel my artistic spirit.

 

Profound and life-altering experiences of trauma and health challenges marked my early years. These dissonances left me searching for a language beyond words and propelled me onto a path where visual language became intertwined with a deep spiritual quest. It was through a constant, visual mapping of my reality that I found a voice. My innate imagination, born from the crucible of life's experiences, revealed that these energies expressed themselves most vividly as images.

 

Driven by a yearning to grasp the essence of reality, I embarked on a profound journey of spiritual discipline (sadhana) marked by periods of deep silence dedicated to reflection and inquiry. During this period, a transformative experience unfolded. I was graced with a profound vision of love and acceptance that shifted and awakened the very core of my understanding. This revelation opened me to a vast and expansive view of surrender and wisdom, setting me on a path of radical self-transformation.

A JOURNEY IN GRATITUDE

After a 25-year hiatus, this inner odyssey compelled me to reunite with the paintbrush. Honoring this newfound resonance, I embarked on a creative resurgence. My art became a conduit for visions and transmissions of Śakti, the embodiment of the universe's creative power in all her magnificent forms. These "Sacred Art Portals" pulsed with an undeniable presence and revelatory force. They invited contemplation of the profound wisdom woven into creation, unveiling the mysteries of existence – a symphony of grace and beauty, both profoundly ecstatic and enchantingly bold. 

 

As I walk this life’s path, these portals are not merely paintings; they are living entities, holding space for my continuous evolution and exploration of "living and being" in a state of awakened resonance with the wholeness of creation, in every present moment.

GRACE & GRATITUDE

This life's journey has been a profound blessing, unfolding under the grace of the Goddess and my Gurus’. Their unwavering love and profound transmissions of wisdom have irrevocably altered my life's course. Their generous gifts of knowledge (Vidyā) and initiation (Dīkṣa) have awakened me to the vast potential of my creativity. My teachers continue to be a source of immense inspiration, generously sharing their wisdom on creativity, art, astrology, and consciousness. Their guidance deepens my knowledge and fuels my passion for Sacred Art.

This Visual Art Portal is a manifestation of the wisdom I've received. It's a humble offering of my love and gratitude for the unfathomable Love, Light, and Vidyā showered upon me. My deepest gratitude flows to Devi, who has made this existence a beautiful possibility, to my Gurus, the Guru Mandala, and all my teachers, past, present, and future.

BIO

  • My art is profoundly influenced and informed by my studies and experiences of Spiritual sciences and Creative energies through devotion, contemplation and meditation on the myriad forms and formlessness of the Goddess.

  • Studying and learning Visionary Art, Śilpaśāśtra (art and science of sculptural architecture) and Kerala Mural Art (art on the walls of temples in South India), has had a profound influence on my understanding of the deep mystical openings and energetic transmissions that occur during and after the process of creation of these art portals, in the awareness of both the artist and the viewer. This Portal is an expression of this Play of Consciousness and Energies within and without.

  • I studied and worked as a Structural design engineer for 13 years, and this informs my Art through my refined sense of design wisdom, scale and geometry.

  • I have studied and continue to study Sacred Art, Visionary Art , Intentional Creativity, Art and Science of Yantra-s and the Ancient Temple Art of India with various teachers across the globe.

  • My studies in Clairvoyance and Consciousness has had a profound influence on my visual perception and color alchemy.

  • My studies of the Cosmos in the form of Vedic Astrology gives me information of sacred space and auspicious timing that can be used in the creation of these art portals.

  • I have been studying and learning Vedānta, Yoga, Śākta and Śaiva Tantras, Srīvidyā texts and ritruals, Vedic Astrology, Vedic chanting and ancient Indian texts and scriptures with my Gurus and teachers for the past 25 years.
